POSITION: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT

LOCATION: FULCRUM HEAD OFFICE: JOHANNESBURG

REPORTING TO: GM: SALES

Key tasks/responsibilities:

  •  Develop and execute sales strategies that maximise your Fulcrum portfolio’s opportunity within the customer environment
  • Achieve sales performance in line with individual and team targets
  • Lead generation through cold calling or referrals
  • Ensure that all required sales processes are followed when onboarding new clients, and required documentation is complete and accurate
  • Provide regular reporting and feedback on sales to the GM of Sales
  • Give input into the business’ service development, to align with customers’ requirements and remain relevant in the market
  • Along with sales planning, this position is responsible for accurate forecasting for your portfolio
  • Direct customer contact comprises a major portion of this role
  • Present and lead customer discussions to successfully conclude the sales process
  • Define, communicate and implement the Go to Market strategy for your allocated segment – ensure that sales targets are met or exceeded in the marketplace
  • Build executive relationships within client base – articulate Fulcrum’s service and business strategies
  • Ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction with Fulcrum’s services within the portfolio
  • Creates network internally and externally within and outside own sales area 
  • Travel requirements
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Attend industry events
  • An understanding of FAIS and compliance
  • Maintain market and regulatory knowledge by attending educational market workshops, reviewing professional publications and growing personal networks


Requirements:

  •  Matric 
  • Valid driver’s licence 
  • Sales qualification/university degree will be advantageous
  • Knowledge of short-term insurance industry (policy administration/premium collections/compliance) 
  • Ability to close deals within allocated time frames 
  • Highly motivated and professional with excellent communication skills, highly confident and goal orientated 
  • Ability to communicate with executive management 
  • Must have a high level of influence with customers
