Asiya Swaleh represents Fulcrum as a Mentor on the IIG Roots and Wings Programme

During November, the final presentations and Graduation for the IIG Roots and Wings Programme took place, we had the opportunity to engage with one of our Fulcrum Team Members, Asiya Swaleh, who represented Fulcrum on the programme as a Mentor and asked her to share a few words with regards to the programme and what it means to her.

“The IIG Roots & Wings Mentorship Program has been one that has always been close to my heart, having been a part of it over the last 5years.

Each new Mentee has been a unique opportunity to carve out a new path on a new journey towards success and self-discovery. Forming lasting friendships, has been a welcome consequence.

The Welcome Event which I once referred to as a “speed-dating” experience, has now stuck, and remains an event filled with anticipation and excitement not knowing who you get to leave with.

From Day 1, I was naturally drawn towards Elizabeth Ngaruwe’s energy. She is elegant, eloquent, and highly intelligent and I’ve proudly observed the evolution of a once shy young lady into a determined, driven & powerful go-getter.

Our journey has certainly been one of deep discovery and truths that could only emerge through complete vulnerability. I am, and always will be proud of the concerted efforts Elizabeth has made to bring about change in her life and I have every faith and confidence that she will continue to rise and fulfill her dreams and be successful in all areas of her life.

It has been my pleasure and privilege to have been her personal Guardian on this journey”.
